Incidences of fowl pox infection are high during rainy seasons

With continuous rains there is usually a high likelihood of chicken and other poultry being infected by the fowl pox virus. Birds could get the fowl pox virus from biting insects such as mosquitoes whose population increase tremendously during such rains. Farmers are likely to observe odd scabs on the comb that gradually darken; and the usually playful birds just standing around with their eyes closed and head under the wings.
